Fleetwood Mac
Biography
Fleetwood Mac is a British-American rock band formed in London in 1967, known for its dramatic lineup changes and massive commercial success. While they began as a respected British blues band led by guitarist Peter Green, their most famous incarnation formed in 1975 with the addition of American duo Lindsey Buckingham (guitar, vocals) and Stevie Nicks (vocals) to the existing core of Mick Fleetwood (drums), John McVie (bass), and Christine McVie (keyboards, vocals). This lineup's 1977 album, Rumours, became one of the best-selling albums of all time. The album's creation was famously fueled by internal turmoil, including the romantic breakups of both couples in the band (the McVies and Buckingham/Nicks), resulting in a landmark pop-rock record with hits like "Dreams," "Go Your Own Way," and "The Chain."
