Arctic Monkeys

Formed in 2002 in Sheffield, England, Arctic Monkeys consists of Alex Turner (lead vocals, guitar), Jamie Cook (guitar), Nick O’Malley (bass), and Matt Helders (drums). Their original bassist, Andy Nicholson, departed in 2006. They first captured attention through a breakthrough method—fans shared their demos on MySpace before the band had even released an official track, making them one of the earliest examples of a band going viral via the internet.
